A new trend in the world is wine poured into cans. This is great when you go for a picnic or a walk. Or you just don’t want to drink a lot.
British company Defy Wine’s presented an innovative product for those who like to drink on the go – white organic wine in an aluminum can. Representatives of the company assure that when developing new items, they were guided by the most relevant trends – responsible consumption, interest in proper nutrition, and reduction in alcohol consumption. Still wine in cans is a rather rare product even in Europe, but interest in it is growing rapidly. This is a very convenient format for different situations. For example, for online alcohol orders, which have grown significantly in the UK and other countries during the coronavirus pandemic. Banks do not break, they are light enough, they are easy to transport – this is almost an ideal format for e-commerce and, of course, it will develop.
For example, the British company Kiss Of Wine is working with independent winemakers across Europe to develop several types of wines that will only be sold in metal cans. Each variety is in a jar of a specific color and design. It will be possible to buy such wine by subscription on the company’s website.
The product has not yet been promoted and canned wine producers pay great attention to ensuring that their products are associated with such concepts as “quality”, “elegance”, “premium quality”, and some have already started making vegan wines, organic wines, wines with reduced calorie content.
Wine in a can is convenient and practical.
Over the past five years, the UK wine market has grown by 9.2%, with the fastest growth recorded in the super premium segment. This speaks to the potential room for further evolution of a wide variety of formats.
Experts believe that in addition to the fact that aluminum cans are a convenient and fashionable alternative to glass bottles, they are more environmentally friendly, recyclable, and also help to reduce the amount of alcohol consumption, since they are mainly produced in a volume of 25 milliliters, unlike bottles where the standard size 75 milliliters. If you want a glass of wine, buy a can, not a bottle. And for going on a picnic is also a very convenient option.
